Air Conditioning Service

• Upon the detection of faults Cardinal Plaza Shell has a multi-teir process to safely and effectively repair air conditioning systems in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
• All refrigerant is evacuated from the air conditioning system and stored to be reused in the system after the repairs are completed.
• All affected components are replaced along with any secondary or related components based on vehicle need.
• The air conditioning system is placed into a vacuum to ensure no contaminants exist in the system, that there are no leaks and that it can be fully recahrged.
• The air conditioning system is then recharged to maximum level and filled with refrigerant oil containing a leak detecting dye.
• After repairs are completed, the vehicle undergoes a multiple point inspection to ensure quality of repair.

The most common symptom of a failing air conditioning system is a lack of cold air. Warm air blowing from the vents is usually the first warning that there is an issue.  Other symptoms include weak airflow, unusual noises and odors.

Leaks

• Leaking air conditioning components are the most common area of failure. Leaking components could include:
• Air conditioning compressor
• Air conditioning lines, high pressure line, low pressure line, suction line, return line
• Air conditioning condenser
• Air conditioning evaporator
• Air conditioing O rings and seals

Performance

• Poor performance of air conditioning can cause improper cooling. Areas affected can include:
• Air conditioning compressor
• Air conditioning drier or condenser
• Air conditioning expansion valve or orifice tube

Electrical Malfunction

• Failing electrical components can cause the air conditiong to function poorly or not at all. Areas affected can include:
• Air conditioning compressor
• Fuses, circuit breakers and relays
• Air conditiong modules and other modules
• Electrical wiring
